Job summary

Conservation International in Arlington, VA seeks a Director, IT Infrastructure to lead strategy, architecture, and operations for CI’s global hybrid/multi‑cloud environment, ensuring secure, scalable services for staff and partners.

You will own cloud and on‑prem platforms (Azure, AWS, on‑prem), drive incident management, disaster recovery, and automation, and partner with Cybersecurity and applications teams to deliver reliable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of progressive IT experience in infrastructure engineering/operations.
• 2+ years of leading managers/multi-disciplinary teams.
• Hybrid infrastructure expertise across cloud and on‑prem, networking, IAM, security controls, BC/DR, ITIL/ITSM, automation.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute CI’s global infrastructure strategy and multi-year roadmap across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Own infrastructure platforms and shared services end-to-end including networking, compute, storage, and backup.
• Lead global operations with defined SLAs/SLOs and drive automation and KPIs.
• Establish cloud governance for Azure/AWS with landing zones, IAM, guardrails, and IaC automation.
• Ensure reliability, resilience, and BC/DR with testing and post‑incident reviews.
• Partner with Cybersecurity to embed zero‑trust principles and security controls.
• Provide executive-level architecture governance and cost optimization across cloud and on‑prem.
