Job summary

H.B. Fuller Company is seeking a Senior Director of IP to lead global intellectual property strategy, portfolios, and enforcement. You will partner withLegal, R&D, Compliance, and business teams to protect and monetize IP assets.

The role oversees patents, trademarks, trade secrets, licensing, and related IP operations worldwide, with leadership responsibility over IP professionals and processes.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• Registered to practice before the USPTO.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
• 10–15 years of intellectual property experience in a law firm, corporate setting, or both.
• Demonstrated experience managing patent portfolios and advising on strategy.
• Experience supporting business, technology, and innovation teams.

Responsibilities

• 20-30% Patent portfolio management across a global scope.
• 10-20% Trademark and brand protection responsibilities.
• 10-15% Trade secret and confidential information protection.
• 15-25% Strategic IP counseling and transactions, including due diligence.
• 20-35% IP department leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
