Job summary

Lakeland Fire + Safety is seeking an Internal Audit Manager to build and lead the Internal Audit function, reporting directly to the CFO, and partnering with Finance, IT, Operations, HR, and Supply Chain.

You will design risk-based audit plans, lead end-to-end audits, assess controls, and drive remediation with practical, actionable recommendations.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of audit experience (Big Four and/or corporate), strong communication, and certifications such as CIA, CPA, or CFE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent).
• 8+ years of audit experience, Big Four or corporate Internal Audit of a U.S. public company.
• Strong knowledge of internal auditing standards, risk assessment practices, and internal control frameworks.
• Experience evaluating financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and build cross-functional partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and mature the Internal Audit program and annual audit strategy.
• Lead end-to-end audits including planning, risk assessments, fieldwork, and reporting.
• Identify root causes of control gaps and remediation plans with business leaders.
• Provide actionable recommendations to improve controls and streamline operations.
• Support governance and compliance across policies and regulatory requirements.
