Job summary

Applied Materials in Santa Clara, CA is seeking a Global Category Manager for Infrastructure & Construction to own the global category strategy and delivery models across capital projects, facilities, and real estate.

You will lead supplier segmentation, governance, and cross functional collaboration with Real Estate, Project Delivery, Legal, and Finance, driving value, risk management, and consistent standards across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
• Demonstrated category management leadership in construction, real estate, or facilities.
• Strong commercial expertise in construction contracting, negotiations, and value/cost analysis.
• Proven ability to lead in a global, matrixed organization with cross-regional collaboration.
• Experience integrating construction, contractual, safety, and supply-market risk into supplier decisions.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain a multi year global category strategy for infrastructure and construction that aligns to the capital plan and goals.
• Own supplier portfolio design and segmentation across GCs, EPCs, PMCs, A&E firms, and ensure effective SRM.
• Lead category councils and governance forums to drive decisions, alignment, and accountability across regions.
• Drive value engineering, should-cost modeling, and total installed cost analysis.
• Partner with Legal, Risk/GIRM, and Insurance on indemnity, contracts, and price-adjustment mechanisms.
