Job summary

Applied Materials in Austin, TX is seeking an Import Trade Operations Specialist to ensure US import transactions comply with CBP, FTR and related laws. You will collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, brokers and government agencies to optimize processes and achieve operational excellence.

The role reports to the Global Trade Operations Senior Manager and requires at least 3 years in import operations, with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in import operations or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Knowledge of U.S. import laws and regulations.
• Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and data visualization.
• Experience in high-tech or semiconductor industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and resolve import shipment issues with freight forwarders, brokers and government agencies.
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements with management.
• Review data accuracy on valuation, origin, unit of measure and classification.
• Obtain supporting documents for import clearance activity.
• Ensure import activities comply with government laws and regulations.
• Define and operate processes related to customs import controls.
• Maintain records and audit preparations for import entries.
• Apply quality principles to identify opportunities and present options to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
