Job summary

New York University’s Office of Global Services is seeking a dedicated immigration professional to support US and international students and scholars. You will counsel on entry requirements, opportunities, rights and responsibilities under immigration law, and coordinate referrals to attorneys, government agencies, or campus partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in management, Communications, Business, Education, or Liberal Arts.
• Master's Degree in cross-cultural communication, counseling, or area of cultural studies, foreign language, TESOL.
• 2+ years relevant immigration regulations advisement and compliance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience training and presenting.
• 3+ years administering immigration and/or study abroad advising in a higher education setting.
• Knowledge of immigration and exchange visitor requirements for multiple global locations.
• Fluency in at least one non-English language; experience living and/or working abroad.

Responsibilities

• Deliver immigration services for NYU students and scholars to permit lawful entry.
• Advise on opportunities, rights and responsibilities under immigration law and refer to other departments, attorneys, or government agencies as necessary.
• Collaborate with staff, schools, departments, and outside organizations to provide information on immigration/mobility requirements and procedures.
