Job summary

Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) seeks a hands-on platform builder to design, develop, and ship internal platforms used across CHAI's global teams. You will build scalable services, enhance data products, and create AI-enabled systems to scale our programs in LMICs.

The role reports to the Head of Finance Systems and AI Transformation. A Bachelor's degree with 3+ years coding and strong backend skills is required, with comfort partnering with non-technical colleagues and navigating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3+ years building and shipping code.
• Proven backend and systems engineering experience.
• Strong ability to understand team needs and partner with non-technical stakeholders.
• Track record of ownership and delivering under uncertainty.
• Genuine commitment to CHAI's mission and operating realities of a global health organization.
• Familiarity with CHAI tools: DBT, Superset, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL.
• Experience building tools for enterprise workflows (HR/Finance/Operations) and compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable platform services used by 2,000 people in 35 countries
• Build out and productionize data products (workflows, data warehouses, reporting)
• Create AI-enabled systems that are reliable, secure, cost-efficient, and easy for internal teams to adopt as we scale
• Collaborate with IT, Operations, and Program teams to ensure tools fit how people actually work, integrate with existing systems, and meet modern security standards
