Job summary

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in life sciences with 15+ years in Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety.
• At least 8 years leading global teams in safety science and pharmacovigilance.
• Strong ability to influence senior leadership across safety, R&D and AbbVie.
• Excellent relationship management and communication skills with emotional intelligence.
• Thorough understanding of global PV regulations and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global team of 40+ physicians, pharmacists, and healthcare professionals in signal detection and aggregate data analysis.
• Set strategic direction for signal detection and surveillance across development and marketed products.
• Champion advanced analytics, visualization, automation, and AI-enabled safety data capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacovigilance regulations and AbbVie guardrails.
• Mentor and develop a diverse, multidisciplinary team across locations.
• Partner with Therapeutic Area Heads to provide SDS support across areas.
• Deliver pharmacovigilance outputs including safety assessments and regulatory responses.
• Drive continuous process improvement in surveillance and data analysis.
