Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks a seasoned Global Head of R&D for AWM to lead the Core and Innovation groups across multiple offices (Houston, Atlanta, Raleigh, Broomfield). The role includes relocation support and close collaboration with Product Management and Services leaders.

You will oversee ~150 professionals, drive R&D strategies aligned to our 2030 plan, and act as the technology POC for escalations, customer opportunities, and cross-functional alignment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in product development leadership within Power Systems/Control Systems or related industries.
• Extensive experience with large-scale, mission-critical real-time Enterprise software systems.
• Strong leadership and management focus in an R&D context.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with customer engagement ability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the R&D Product Group, including Core and Innovation leaders and the Quality Lead.
• Partner with Global Head of Product Management and Global Head of Services to deliver high-quality and commercially viable products.
• Oversee a global R&D team of ~150 professionals, fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Develop and implement R&D strategies aligned with the company's 2030 plan.
• Serve as the technology point of contact for customer escalations and opportunities.
