Job summary

Bayer AG is seeking a Senior Director, Licensing Officer - Oncology to identify and advance high-value licensing and collaboration opportunities that support the Oncology strategy. The role requires deep scientific expertise and strong commercial acumen, serving as Bayer's primary external representative to potential partners and leading or supporting relevant transactions.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of the Oncology landscape (targets, modalities, market dynamics).
• Emerging science, drug discovery, pharmaceutical R&D, and Oncology drug development.
• Working knowledge of pharmaceutical licensing processes.
• Hands-on transaction experience (leading, shaping, negotiating) a plus.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills; ability to influence at the executive level.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical, clinical, and commercial assessment of Oncology licensing opportunities and synthesize findings for decision-making.
• Establish and maintain screening processes, coordinating input from Oncology stakeholders.
• Lead due diligence teams to identify and mitigate project risks.
• Present assessments and recommendations to leadership to secure approvals through term sheets and contracting stages.
• Participate in or lead transactions including business case development, valuation, and negotiations.
• Serve as Bayer's external representative to potential partners and expand external networks.

Education

Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MS, or equivalent) in life sciences or related field
