Perplexity AI seeks a Director of Events to own our events worldwide: hosted, speaking, and sponsored. You will set strategy, run production, manage the budget, and build the team.

Lead the calendar, decide which events we run, which we speak at, and which we skip. Produce launches, dinners, summits, and roadshows with strong concept and vendor management. You will lead the speaking program and sponsorships, ensuring every event reflects our product.

Qualifikationen

• 12+ years producing events, including large hosted events, sponsorships, and field programs, ideally in-house at a technology company
• Has run an executive speaking program: selecting stages, preparing speakers, managing the day
• Drives measurement: event attribution, brand sentiment, and reporting results
• Based in San Francisco or New York
• Can partner with Sales, Product, Comms, Brand, Finance, Legal, and executives
• Knows production: run of show, staging, AV, registration, staffing, security, permits
• Power user of AI tools; demonstrated usage in workflows
• Has built or led an events team
• Has negotiated sponsorships and understands good vs bad deals
• Has owned large budgets, agency relationships, and vendor contracts
• If you produced a flagship event and a dinner in the same week, you know what a good sponsorship looks like and want to build events from the ground up

• Set strategy, budget, production, and team.
• Lead the events calendar: decide which events to run, speak at, or skip.
• Produce hosted events: launches, dinners, summits, roadshows; manage concept, programming, venues, vendors, run of show.
• Run the speaking program: select stages and prepare speakers.
• Manage sponsorships: negotiate terms, design footprint, track spend.
• Collaborate with Sales to bring in target customers and ensure follow-up.
• Collaborate with Brand and Creative to ensure events look like the product.
• Lead the team with a balance of IC work and management.
• Build systems: playbooks, event tiers, intake, vendors, agencies, budgets.
• Measure attendance, coverage, pipeline, signups and stop underperforming events.
