Overview

Global Head of Application Services is a Leadership role and is responsible for managing the overall Application Services Business Globally for Rackspace Public Cloud. Driving business around Application Migration, Modernization, Cloud Native Development and Support. This role is accountable for building Services Business for Enterprise customers – grounds up. The primary function is to build and run a profitable business with Sales, Solutioning and Delivery responsibility. Partnering with field sales team to grow the Applications Services business across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

• Build applications services Business Unit for Rackspace globally and grow the business around Application Migration, Modernization, Development and support.
• P&L leader for Applications Services with responsibility for revenue, margin, and utilization targets.
• Strategy – Deliver against a clear business plan that includes prioritized offerings, target markets/customers/segments, monetization model, mix of Rackers and Partner delivered capabilities, and clear performance measures/objectives.
• Strategy – Responsible for creating capability and offering roadmap to accelerate the business.
• Sales – Leading growth of the Application Services globally working with Field Sales and Go-To-Market team.
• Sales – Lead solution and advisory-led sales with existing and new customers.
• Pre-Sales – Actively participate in presales activities, deal reviews for the Application Services engagements.
• Solutioning – Develop differentiated offerings to help customers achieve their business objectives.
• Delivery – Deliver large and complex cloud application development, migration, modernization engagements across the globe; ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Partner – Partner with hyperscalers to create strategic initiatives that drive business growth.
• Partner – Establish Rackspace as a top Cloud Application Services partner.
• Offering – Collaborate with Offering and marketing to create market-defining offers and lead the sales and deployment of those offers.
• Team Management – Lead a large team of architects, consultants, and Delivery Managers across the region.
• Talent Management – Attract, recruit, develop, and retain key talent including Enterprise Architects and Consultants with strong application architecture and transformation backgrounds.
• Operational Excellence – Maintain healthy utilization; forecast revenue, margin, and utilization accurately; represent the business to Senior Leaders and customers.
• Cross-organizational agility, communication, and leadership.
• Provide technical thought leadership with pattern recognition around key opportunities and act as a technical influencer across Rackspace.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of clients’ business and industry, addressing opportunities and issues as they arise.

Skills

• Seasoned P&L leader with strong experience in building Application Services business on Cloud for AWS, Microsoft or leading Consulting/SI organizations of $50M+.
• Strong understanding of technology and standard practices around consulting and delivery; Cloud Native Solutions, Containers, Microservices, API.
• Deep expertise in application architectures, SDLC and cloud-based solutions.
• Proven ability to lead customer discussions and win deals based on solution strength.
• Strong delivery experience in large application services engagements with Global Delivery model.
• Analytical thinker capable of long-range planning.
• Thorough knowledge of business operations including strategic and operational planning.
• Ability to lead teams of support professionals and delivery managers.
• Proven leadership and motivational skills with a drive for excellence and continuous improvement.
• Excellent time management and communication skills; capable presenter to technical audiences.

Experience

• 10+ years’ experience building and leading Applications Services Business.
• 15+ years’ experience as Enterprise Architect.
• 10+ years managing large teams.
• 10+ years of experience achieving revenue targets.
• Strong technology background on AWS, Azure platforms; expertise in cloud programming languages.
• Togaf, Zachman Framework knowledge.

Certifications & Education

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field required.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Demands

• General office environment; no special physical demands required.
• May require long periods of sitting and viewing a computer monitor.
• Schedule flexibility to include weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by 24/7 operations.
