Job Description

The Grants & Incentives Manager will lead the development, execution, governance, and compliance of the company’s global grants and incentives process. This role partners with key stakeholders globally to identify and evaluate funding opportunities, recommends strategies that reduce investment and operating costs, leads applications and negotiations, and oversees the ongoing realization and compliance of awarded benefits.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively identify, research, interpret, and evaluate grants, incentives, tax credits, loans, and other funding opportunities relevant to company operations and investments globally.
  • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and economic development trends; assess their business implications; and advise leaders on emerging opportunities, requirements, and risks.
  • Serve as the company’s grants and incentives subject-matter expert, providing recommendations on eligibility, funding structures, application strategies, compliance obligations, and benefit realization.
  • Lead assigned incentive opportunities from intake through award and ongoing compliance, establishing project plans, priorities, decision points, documentation standards, timelines, and stakeholder accountability; coordinate recurring project meetings with internal teams and external consultants to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure required activities and deliverables are completed.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of incentive applications, business cases, financial analyses, agreements, reporting packages, and compliance documentation by directing and validating input from internal teams and external advisors.
  • Participate in negotiations and strategic discussions with public authorities, economic development agencies, and other external partners, coordinating with Legal, Tax, Treasury, Finance, and Government Affairs as appropriate.
  • Oversee cross-functional and cross-regional workstreams involving Finance, Operations, Engineering, HR, Treasury, Legal, Tax, Accounting, Corporate Development, and other stakeholders to ensure timely decisions and delivery.
  • Establish and maintain global process governance, including opportunity intake, prioritization, approvals, controls, documentation, reporting cadence, escalation protocols, and audit readiness.
  • Own the grants and incentives portfolio, databases, reporting calendars, and performance metrics, including opportunity pipeline, application status, anticipated and realized benefits, deadlines, compliance status, and key risks.
  • Monitor the financial performance and return on investment of the portfolio; provide forecasts, insights, and recommendations to leadership; and elevate material delivery, compliance, or financial risks.
  • Ensure periodic and ongoing compliance for awarded incentives, including required submissions, supporting records, benefit validation, audit support, and timely resolution of gaps.
  • Chair or facilitate grants and incentives steering committee(s) and stakeholder groups, setting agendas, presenting recommendations, aligning stakeholders, documenting decisions, escalating risks, and ensuring follow-through on agreed actions.
  • Prepare and deliver relevant presentations, portfolio reports, and decision materials regarding opportunities, financial benefits, compliance status, and strategic priorities.
  • Direct outside consultants and other professional advisors; define scope, monitor performance and spend, and ensure quality and value of deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, training, and adoption of grants and incentives processes, tools, controls, and stakeholder responsibilities across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, Law, or a related field required; advanced degree or relevant professional certification preferred.
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in grants and incentives, tax credits, public funding, economic development, finance, accounting, government affairs, or a related field, including experience leading complex cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrated experience evaluating, securing, negotiating, and managing material grants or incentive opportunities and ensuring ongoing compliance with award requirements.
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including experience developing business cases, evaluating return on investment, forecasting benefits, and translating complex information into actionable recommendations.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, lead in a matrix organization, resolve competing priorities, and build effective relationships with government authorities, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, written communication, and executive presentation skills. Experience in a global, multi-region, multi-site, manufacturing, or similarly complex organization preferred.
