Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Foreign Exchange Investigation Specialist to join our team. In this role you will research and resolve Nostro account issues, perform SWIFT messaging, and collaborate with Front Office, Sales, Middle Office, and Operations to deliver timely payment resolutions.

The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of international payments and SWIFT standards, plus at least five years of relevant experience. This position requires working from a U.S. Bank location multiple days per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Five or more years of relevant work experience
• Bachelor’s degree or international banking certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of international banking products, services, and processes

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve Nostro account breaks, including beneficiary claims, non-receipts, returns, and payment settlement discrepancies.
• Generate and approve SWIFT messages to correct, repair, and re-effect payment settlements.
• Partner with Front Office, Sales, Middle Office, and Operations teams to deliver timely and accurate payment resolutions.
• Analyze exceptions, identify root causes, and recommend process improvements to reduce operational risk and enhance efficiency.
• Manage personal and shared team mailboxes to ensure prompt response to inquiries and investigations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workflows, controls, and client experience.
• Handle additional operational and investigative responsibilities as business needs evolve.
