Job summary

Pyka is hiring a deployed flight test engineer to support development and commercial deployments of autonomous aircraft. You will set up initial missions abroad and train customers, spending ~50% of time at customer sites after a two-month training in Dixon or Victoria Island, CA.

Responsibilities include ensuring ongoing operations at sites, troubleshooting, and contributing to product evolution. This role requires travel to Central and South America and other regions, with strong communication

Qualifications

• Experience flying fixed wing UAVs or large multirotors.
• Experience with ground control and mission planning software.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical systems, assembly, and troubleshooting.
• High voltage safety knowledge; comfortable with 120 VDC, 20–30 kW systems.
• Familiar with Linux, command line, and Git.
• Proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Travel to and participate in international deployments to support flight testing and training.
• Troubleshoot issues at customer sites with remote Pyka engineering support.
• Suggest features, improvements, and design changes to the design team.
• Perform fleet maintenance on aircraft, ground infrastructure, and power systems.
• Assemble, prepare and test airframes for airworthiness after shipment.
• Act as Pilot in Command or Ground Control Operator for UAV experiments.
• Lead or assist in ground and flight test events as needed.
• Manage complex logistics for flight operations.
