Job summary

Google is seeking a Principal Engineer, Resource Optimization and Fleet Logic, to own the architectural outlook and strategic direction for Google’s global capacity planning ecosystem. You will be the primary technical authority for complex planning constraints, optimization scenarios, and deployment workflows to achieve rapid, efficient capacity online.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of experience as a software engineer.
Experience delivering large-scale capacity planning, IaaS/PaaS solutions, or fleet management systems.
Preferred: advanced degrees (Master/PhD) in CS or related fields.

Responsibilities

Lead design and evolution of next generation global fleet planning with a multi-year roadmap.
Model, forecast, and reconfigure fleet resources across ML hardware, compute, power, cooling, and networks.
Partner across AI & Infrastructure to define a unified capacity management product suite.
Integrate AI/ML and optimization techniques into capacity planning workflows.
Collaborate with academia and industry to anticipate technology trends.
