Job summary

Google Cloud seeks a Principal Engineer to own the architectural outlook and end-to-end strategy for global capacity planning. You will align long-term roadmaps with engineering execution and drive scalable IaaS/PaaS solutions across compute, storage, and networking.

You will lead cross-functional teams, translate forecasts into infrastructure requirements, and advance automated tooling and dashboards to improve planning fidelity amid changing demand and supply constraints.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
15 years software engineering or 13 years with advanced degree.
Experience delivering large-scale capacity planning for IaaS/PaaS.
Experience with fleet management systems.

Responsibilities

Define end-to-end architectural roadmap for global capacity planning.
Drive automated IaaS and PaaS tooling and forecasting.
Coordinate with capacity infrastructure, engineering, and product/financial partners to resolve constraints.
Translate forecasts into infrastructure requirements for cores, storage, and GPUs/TPUs.
Ensure alignment with Google OKRs and long-term business goals.
