Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support the Legal team, guiding leadership on complex regulatory, transactional, and commercial matters across platforms and embedded payments.

The ideal candidate has a JD, bar admission, and 8+ years of experience in fintech, payments, or financial services, with strong negotiation and cross-functional collaboration skills. This role is based in the United States and involves advising senior leaders on risk and growth strategies.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
• 8+ years of legal experience in commercial, regulatory, transactional, fintech, payments, or financial services matters.
• Experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated commercial agreements and managing legal risk.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal guidance to executives on complex matters affecting platforms, integrated payments, payment facilitator programs, and software-enabled commerce.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and execute platform, software, referral, partner, and processing agreements while balancing legal risk with business goals.
• Lead or support negotiations with customers, vendors, ISVs, payment facilitators, platforms, and third parties to enable growth.
