Job summary

Cornell University is seeking a Global Finance Specialist to lead financial operations and budgeting for Offices of Global Learning and Global Operations. This on-campus role manages domestic and international financial oversight of study abroad and global programming, including subsidiary management and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of full-time relevant experience in finance or related field.
• Experience managing budgets, financial processes, internal controls, and procurement policies.
• Ability to coordinate with diverse internal/external stakeholders globally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and database/table building.

Responsibilities

• Serve as account manager with transactional oversight for office payables exceeding $9 million; manage vendor relations and reconciliation.
• Support development and management of complex program operating budgets with policy compliance.
• Oversee affiliate and foreign entities to ensure cash flow, invoicing, payroll, and audits are compliant.
• Coordinate operations for international programs with Global HR and partner institutions, including staffing matters.
• Prepare and maintain unit-level service agreements between legal entities and Cornell; utilize transfer pricing structures.
• Negotiate and execute internal and external contracts.
• Enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure policy compliance (PCI).
• Advise on new policies affecting international and domestic operations; provide process improvements.
