Job summary

UN Women, based in New York, seeks a Deputy Director for Financial Management to lead the global financial management function, ensure IPSAS-compliant reporting, and strengthen internal controls across a decentralized operating environment.

Reporting to the CFO/Director, DFA, you will oversee accounting, treasury, donor reporting and financial risk management, while guiding policy and process improvements within a large multinational organization.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in accounting/finance; professional qualification such as CA/CPA/ACCA required.
• At least 15 years in financial management; 7+ years IPSAS/IFRS reporting; international or UN experience preferred.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud or UN system ERPs; proven leadership in international teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead UN Women’s global financial management function and ensure effective stewardship of resources.
• Oversee IPSAS-compliant reporting, donor reporting and financial statements.
• Manage treasury, cash, investments and risk in coordination with global governance mechanisms.
• Maintain internal controls, risk management and compliance across decentralised operations.
• Coordinate audits and provide financial assurance to headquarters and field offices.
• Drive ERP-enabled process improvement, data quality and digital finance capabilities.
