Job summary

United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in New York is seeking a Finance Specialist for the Data Management Unit within the Finance Branch. The role focuses on IT systems design, integrity, and reporting for financial management and IPSAS compliance.

You will supervise the DMU team, collaborate with ITSO, and lead training on ERP modules and related financial systems to improve efficiency and accuracy of statutory and donor reporting.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in Information Systems, Finance or Accounting.
• Strong experience with financial information systems and reporting.
• Fluent in English; ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain IT system integrity for financial management, accounting and reporting.
• Lead and mentor the Data Management Unit; ensure ERP configurations meet IPSAS and donor reporting requirements.
• Oversee period-end closures, statutory reporting, and development of dashboards and exception reports.
