Job summary

Harvard University’s Center for International Development (CID) seeks a Senior Events Manager in Cambridge, MA. The role leads the strategy, design, and execution of CID’s public-facing events worldwide, delivering exceptional experiences and strengthening global engagement.

The position reports to CID’s Senior Director of Communications and collaborates with a broad CID team to ensure operational excellence across conferences, student seminars, and convenings for Harvard and international

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree and minimum 5 years of professional experience in event management, program management, higher education administration, or related field.
• Masters degree preferred in Economics, Public Policy, International Development, or related field is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Demonstrated ability to lead strategy and management of complex events with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Event Planning & Program Development (65%).
• Lead financial planning and stewardship for CID's annually events portfolio; develop budgets and allocate resources.
• Design and deliver CID's event portfolio including flagship events and regional programming.
• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to expand CID's reach and impact.
• Establish metrics to evaluate event success and advise leadership on improvements.
