Job summary

Equinix is seeking a world-class Sr Principal Engineer to serve as the preeminent technical authority for Enterprise Networking Architecture within the Digital Infrastructure Organization. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, carrying accountability for defining, governing, and evolving the global networking architecture and long-term strategy across the enterprise.

Qualifications

Experience leading enterprise-scale networking and security architecture.
Proven track record owning global multi-site environments (10,000+ endpoints) as a senior IC.
External technical impact through patents, open source, standards participation, or industry speaking.

Responsibilities

Act as the Final Technical Authority to DIO leadership on enterprise networking architecture decisions.
Own the Global Networking Architecture across LAN, WAN, datacenter fabrics, cloud connectivity, wireless, and secure access.
Set standards by documenting reference architectures and best practices for regional consistency, resilience, and security.
Drive alignment with cloud, security, infrastructure, and edge teams to accelerate modernization.
Lead long-term strategy with 5-year roadmaps, technology evaluations, and executive-ready recommendations.
Architect at scale for data centers, campus networks, security platforms, and AI-integrated networking.
