Job description


We are seeking a Global Engineering Process Digital Transformation Manager. The role has global responsibilities. Preference for the role to be based in Raleigh, NC, our North America headquarters, but open to remote work.

The Global Engineering Process Digital Transformation Manager will oversee and lead the End-to-End engineering process within the Business Unit (BU), from creating tenders to supporting marketing quotation activities, to providing Bills of Materials to manufacturing/factories. The focus is on applying Lean methodologies and Digital Transformation to support standardization, enhance speed and quality for customers, marketing, and internal processes, including Opex/Procurement support for Design anywhere, Manufacture anywhere, and overall process optimization. This role emphasizes process efficiency, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring alignment with business objectives through stakeholder collaboration. Key areas include value stream process improvements, manual process reduction, and developing platform and tool requirements to improve tool speed and quality.

The manager will lead a team to coordinate activities, ensure best practices across the BU, and eliminate bottlenecks to successfully implement the End-to-End Process, supporting the scale-up strategy and enabling faster, higher-quality engineering design.

The position may require 25-50% travel during the first 1-2 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Management: Develop, implement, and oversee engineering processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Value Stream Process Improvements: Lead Kaizen events and workshops to identify and implement process improvements, collaborating with Sales, Operations, SCM, etc., for alignment.
  • Manual Process Reduction: Analyze and automate manual tasks using digital tools, in cooperation with BU IT, emphasizing a "Business Led and IT Supported" approach.
  • Develop Requirements for Platform and Tool Teams: Collaborate to define needs that enhance tool speed and quality, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a multinational team, promoting best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of ongoing process optimization and share best practices across engineering teams.
  • Project Management: Establish clear project stages, decision points, and change management practices.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Work with teams like SAP to align strategies and processes across product lines.

Qualifications:

Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, IT, or related field.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in project management are a plus.

Experience:
- 5-7+ years in engineering process management or related fields.
- Proven experience managing complex projects and leading multinational teams.
- Skilled in project steering committees and strategic planning.

Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in agile methodologies and project management tools.
