Job summary

U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) is seeking an External Engagement Associate to support external engagement, communications, and stakeholder outreach across the GHMS portfolio.

You will coordinate events, prepare materials, and advance USP’s public health standards through thoughtful, effective communications. Working under the Director of External Engagement, you will amplify USP’s thought leadership, support partner engagement, and drive visibility strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public health, international affairs, public policy, marketing, or related field.
• 2-4 years of professional experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, event coordination, or related areas.
• Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with keen attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across teams in a matrixed environment.
• Ability to synthesize and translate complex information into clear, audience-appropriate content.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stakeholder trackers, engagement calendars, and coordination tools.
• Conduct research on organizations, events, and engagement opportunities to inform team planning.
• Prepare briefing notes, background materials, presentations, talking points, and summaries for meetings and engagements.
• Provide coordination and logistical support for conferences, webinars, roundtables, and other events.
• Assist in development of invitations, agendas, speaker briefs, run-of-show materials, and post-event summaries.
• Draft and support development of communications materials including email invitations, newsletters, fact sheets, web content, talking points, and short-form content.
• Coordinate editorial, design, and print processes and ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
• Draft social media content and support digital campaigns.
• Track performance metrics for social and digital activities.
• Manage vendor selection, coordination, contracts, and invoicing.
