Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Manager, Tax to support global employment tax compliance, advisory, risk management, and project execution. This role works with regional stakeholders and external advisors to ensure operational excellence and compliance across worldwide employment tax processes.

Responsibilities include reviewing federal/state/local payroll tax compliance, researching tax positions, equity compensation tax reporting, and partnering with Payroll Operations and vendors to validate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, or related field.
• Experience in Big Four, multinational in-house tax, or regional shared-services preferred.
• Solid knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll tax withholding worldwide.
• Experience supporting tax authority audits (U.S. and international).
• Experience with equity compensation tax reporting and global plans.

Responsibilities

• Support federal, state, and local payroll tax compliance activities.
• Assist in research to support tax positions and cross-border issues.
• Assist in tax reporting for RSUs, stock options, ESPP across jurisdictions.
• Provide tax guidance on compensation, benefits, travel and remote work arrangements.
• Collaborate to ensure accurate tax reporting and withholdings on compensation and benefits.
• Assist with tax authority notices and audits, gather documentation.
• Partner with Payroll Operations and vendors to validate tax configurations and reconciliations.
• Support M&A due diligence and integration activities.
• Monitor changes in employment tax law globally and communicate impacts.
