Job summary

BDO USA is seeking an Employment Tax Manager to assist clients with global payroll setup, managing US employment tax liabilities, and reducing non-compliance risks. The role includes advising on policy changes, collaborating with senior leaders, and marketing within the practice area.

The position focuses on research, tax compliance, consulting, and strategy development, with responsibility for mentoring junior staff and delivering timely tax solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Accounting, preferred.
• Master’s degree in Accounting/Taxation or J.D., preferred.
• Five (5) or more years of prior experience in employment tax, related tax, consulting or payroll services, required.
• Experience supervising employment tax professionals on a project or engagement basis, required.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and resolves employment tax issues; researches and prepares analyses for clients.
• Manages federal and state employment tax compliance, including Forms 941/940, W-2, and registrations.
• Assists with multi-state employment tax compliance for remote/mobile workers and M&A transactions.
• Responds to inquiries from federal and state agencies; drafts responses and recommended actions.
