Job summary

Islamic Relief USA seeks an International Emergency Response Lead to design, coordinate, and execute large-scale humanitarian responses across regions. The role combines operational leadership with strategic partnerships, including donor engagement and UN agency coordination.

The ideal candidate has 5–7+ years in international humanitarian response, strong field experience, and the ability to travel internationally on short notice.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–7+ years in international humanitarian response with field experience.
• Experience managing relationships with institutional donors (USAID/BHA, State Dept, UN agencies, etc.).
• Experience in insecure or resource-constrained environments.
• Willingness to travel internationally on short notice (up to 30–50%).
• Fluency in English; other languages (Arabic, French, Spanish) are assets.
• Experience in multiple geographic regions and humanitarian coordination systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale international emergency responses.
• Oversee rapid needs assessments and program implementation.
• Ensure timeliness and alignment with humanitarian standards and donor requirements.
• Manage external engagement with donors, UN agencies, and partners.
