Job summary

Dulce Independent School District is seeking Educational Assistants to support classroom teachers across elementary to high school levels. Immediate starting date; 185-day term; salary to be established annually by the Board of Education.

Responsibilities include working with individual students or small groups, maintaining records, supervising during drills and meals, and assisting with reading mastery and math groups. Strong confidentiality required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Level III Educational Assistant License or work towards acquiring one.
• Reasonable degree of computer literacy.
• Must possess a Substitute Licensure through NMPed

Responsibilities

• Be punctual; adhere to rules set by building principal and staff handbook; lunch duty.
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist the teacher in planning and implementing strategies for reinforcing material based on student needs.
• Operate and care for equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
• Distribute and collect workbooks, papers and other instructional materials.
• Guide independent study, reading mastery groups, math groups, enrichment and remedial work.
• Assist with supervision during drills, assemblies, play periods and field trips.
• Maintain bulletin boards and classroom displays.
• Read to students and participate in oral reading activities.
• Assist with lunch, snack and cleanup routines.
