Job summary

World Bank Group in Washington, DC invites a Senior Education Finance Specialist to lead the Education Finance Platform and act as the Global Lead for education finance within the department. Based in Washington, DC, you will drive analytical work, policy dialogue, and operational guidance across regions and country teams.

You will collaborate with ministries of finance and education, design analytical tools, and ensure financing strategies align with the Bank's education and skills objectives.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in economics with focus on public finance or macroeconomics.
• Demonstrated ability to engage credibly with ministries of finance and macro-fiscal counterparts.
• Track record of producing operational guidance, toolkits or diagnostic frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the education finance work program within the Department.
• Head the WBG Education Finance Platform and oversee its budget and resources.
• Act as Global Lead for education finance, providing technical leadership and external representation.
• Convene the education finance Community of Practice and coordinate with regional focal points.
• Build and maintain relationships across the Bank Group with macroeconomics, governance and private finance teams.
• Deliver guidance and tools to translate analysis into country-level actions and FP review reforms.
• Lead global and regional analytical work on education finance and support country engagements.
