Job summary

Conservation International (CI) is seeking a Director of Social Media to lead a global social media strategy that grows brand awareness, engages donors, and delivers measurable results. You will design campaigns, create social-first content, and collaborate with teams worldwide to amplify CI’s mission and impact.

The role requires strong storytelling, leadership across dispersed teams, and the ability to report on performance with dashboards and benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, international relations, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience, with at least 5 years in social media strategy and channel management.
• Experience in a global organization and sensitivity to cultural differences.
• Ability to engage with senior-level decision-makers and counsel CI on social media use.
• Strong storytelling and content creation across multiple social media forms.
• Energetic problem solver and effective communicator for globally dispersed teams.
• Strong writing skills and passion for digital storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a global social media strategy to grow awareness and engagement.
• Create digital storytelling to engage new audiences and donors.
• Collaborate with Marketing to integrate social into brand and campaigns.
• Establish measurement framework with dashboards and reporting.
• Oversee day-to-day social media operations and brand voice.
• Lead during crisis communications with alignment to CI values.
• Some international travel and non-traditional hours required.
