Job summary

Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) seeks a Director of Programmes & Accountability to provide strategic leadership across its humanitarian programmes, quality, accountability and learning. Reporting to the Chief Executive, this role will steer the portfolio, lead the Programmes & Accountability team, and advise the Executive Team and Board on performance, risk and assurance.

• Significant senior leadership experience in humanitarian response.
• Strong knowledge of the international humanitarian system, programme quality and accountability.
• Experience operating in complex humanitarian contexts.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across the DEC's humanitarian programmes, quality, accountability and learning.
• Lead the Programmes & Accountability team and oversee programme performance, risk and assurance.
• Build influential relationships with government, donors, humanitarian agencies and partners, including the DEC's external commitments with UK Aid Match.
