Job summary

HARMAN invites senior engineers to lead the global Mechanical Engineering & Prototyping teams for JBL Professional loudspeakers. The Director will own mechanical design of enclosures, structural components, and rapid prototyping, guiding development from concept through production.

You will partner with systems engineering, acoustics, quality, manufacturing, and operations to ensure performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost targets while shaping the strategic roadmap and mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of product development engineering experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• Strong background in mechanical design, materials, manufacturing processes.
• Proven ability to lead global engineering organizations and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design of loudspeaker enclosures, structural components, rigging interfaces, mounting hardware, and related systems.
• Lead mechanical development activities from concept through production.
• Drive design, analysis, simulation, prototyping, and engineering validation.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, quality, sustainability, and cost objectives.
• Provide technical leadership for complex product development and reviews.
• Lead rapid prototyping capabilities to accelerate innovation and reduce risk.
