Job summary

International Justice Mission seeks a Director, Accounting, Statutory Reporting to lead IJM’s global accounting and external financial reporting. You will ensure consolidated reporting integrity, readiness for audits, and compliance with regulatory requirements while guiding a distributed finance team.

You will oversee IRS Form 990 filings, NICRA submissions, and ongoing statutory reporting, partnering with cross-functional leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA required or strongly preferred.
• 8+ years in accounting, audit, or financial reporting.
• Experience leading annual audits and regulatory reporting activities.
• Demonstrated experience researching and applying US GAAP accounting guidance.
• Experience with nonprofit financial reporting preferred.
• Experience with Workday Financials preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Advanced knowledge of US GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting.
• Experience with lease accounting under ASC 842.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for IJM's global accounting and external financial reporting function.
• Lead the development of strategies to strengthen reporting quality and audit readiness.
• Supervise accounting staff across global finance teams and provide technical guidance.
• Drive efficiency, improve reporting quality, and reduce audit burden.
• Oversee preparation, review, and presentation of consolidated financial statements.
• Research and document accounting conclusions for complex transactions.
• Monitor changes in US GAAP and ASC 842; update policies accordingly.
• Own accounting policies, governance, and reporting methodologies.
• Lead annual consolidated financial statement audits with external auditors.
• Direct IRS Form 990 filings, NICRA submissions, and other statutory reporting.
