Sun Chemical, a leader in packaging and graphic solutions, seeks a Global Category Leader for Direct Materials to manage sourcing strategies for resins, solvents, colorants, and additives.

The role drives category strategy, supplier negotiations, and TCO optimization while coordinating with regional teams to meet sustainability goals and ensure supply chain value. Based in Northlake, IL, this position emphasizes collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years procurement experience.
• Experience in global procurement and cost reduction in cross-cultural environments.
• Experience with Ecovadis.
• Strong oral and written communication and highly organized.
• Analytical with cost modeling, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.

Responsabilités

• Manage global raw material sourcing categories with final accountability for regional/global spend.
• Lead strategy design for category including leveraged negotiations and cross-regional alignment.
• Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with regional objectives.
• Contribute to other category teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
• Analyze supply markets, supplier economics, and develop Total Cost of Ownership programs.
• Drive TCO optimization, identify low-cost suppliers and make-vs-buy decisions.
• Implement market tracking metrics to generate insights on major chemical markets.
• Manage spend category databases and report progress monthly.
• Lead negotiations and development of key contracts with suppliers, legal, and stakeholders.
• Define a comprehensive category strategy for key raw material categories.
• Promote Sustainable Procurement and drive related initiatives.
• Monitor industry best practices and trends to drive continuous improvement.
