Job summary

Ford is seeking a Diagnostic Service Software Release Engineer to help diagnose and resolve software issues affecting vehicle diagnostics and service updates. You will collaborate with engineering, service, and data teams to analyze failures, validate solutions, and ensure technicians can repair customers’ vehicles efficiently using Ford tools.

The role emphasizes leading resolution plans, working with API details, and contributing to global diagnostic software releases within a hybrid work

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related automotive field.
3+ years of module programming and testing.
3+ years of experience with APIs.
2+ years working independently with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Oversee timely resolution to diagnostic software issues affecting technicians.
Provide escalation support to TAC & FSE for software/data issues.
Lead development of detailed resolution plans.
Understand web service APIs to aid triage and identify failure points.
Use XML tools to debug service procedures and data quality.
Create interim containment actions while permanent fixes are developed.
Coordinate with Product Development to prioritize issues for service technicians.
Ensure correct data support of software applications.
Interface with designer/supplier to ensure design intent.
Validation using simulations and on-vehicle tests.
Liaise with data stakeholders to ensure data accuracy.
Document Features and User Stories in Rally for FDRS.
