Job summary

Stellantis in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an experienced Safety, Aftersales & On-Board Diagnostics requirements engineer to drive system-level safety and diagnostic strategy across propulsion controls. You will own the safety lifecycle, collaborate with engineering and suppliers, define compliance approaches, and help shape the reporting tools used for vehicle diagnostics and aftersales programs.

Candidates should have a strong background in ISO 26262, diagnostics regulations, and proven ability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related field.
• 8 years of experience in automotive systems, propulsion or embedded control systems.
• Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262), diagnostics, and OBD regulations (CARB CCR 1968.2, UN156, Euro 7).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level Safety, OBD and Aftersales requirements definition.
• Own functional safety lifecycle including safety case and assessments.
• Define and approve diagnostic strategies and compliance approach.
• Lead cross-functional and supplier coordination.
• Drive technical decision-making and mentor team members.
• Develop requirements to enhance current reporting tools.
• Manage supplier implementation of reporting tools.
