Job summary

Bitkernel Technology Inc in Austin, TX is seeking a Director of DevOps, SRE & Infrastructure to lead the reliability, performance, and security of our SaaS platform across cloud, hybrid, and bare-metal environments.

You will own incident response, define SLIs/SLOs, drive modernization, and mentor high-performing teams while collaborating with Finance, Product, and Engineering to scale the business.

This is a senior leadership role with a pay range of 160,000 - 200,000 USD per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years in Infrastructure Ops, DevOps, SRE, or related fields.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams.
• Experience with mission-critical SaaS platforms.
• Strong Linux, networking, security, virtualization, storage, and automation knowledge.
• Proven ability to improve monitoring, incident response, and reliability.
• Experience with SOPs, runbooks, and support processes.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and cost control experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure, and Front-Line Support teams.
• Own platform availability, performance, and reliability.
• Lead incident management and post-incident reviews.
• Develop and track SLIs, SLOs, KPIs, and executive reporting.
• Create escalation paths across multiple teams.
• Improve MTTR and customer-impacting incident response.
• Develop SOPs and runbooks for operations.
• Own cloud, hybrid, and bare-metal infrastructure.
• Define infrastructure roadmap aligned with business goals.
• Oversee disaster recovery, backup, and continuity.
• Drive modernization and automation initiatives.
• Manage budgets and FinOps for infrastructure.
• Build and mentor teams; foster ownership and collaboration.
