Job summary

Barloworld Equipment seeks a senior data governance leader to define and own the enterprise governance strategy and operating model across Azure Fabric, One Lake, Snowflake, and Dynamics 365. You will establish accountability across data owners, stewards, and custodians, and drive governance embedded in platforms by design.

You will oversee metadata, lineage, cataloguing, data quality at the source, and compliance frameworks, engaging with stakeholders to enable trusted, discoverable data assets

Qualifications

• Minimum degree in information systems, data management, computer science, or related field.
• Extensive experience leading enterprise data governance initiatives.
• Proven governance of ERP data, preferably Dynamics 365.
• Strong metadata, lineage, and data cataloguing expertise.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise data governance strategy and operating model.
• Establish roles and accountability across business domains (owners, stewards, custodians).
• Embed governance into data platforms and cloud services by design.
• Oversee metadata, lineage, and data cataloguing.
• Drive data quality improvement at source, especially for ERP data.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and organizational change to embed governance practices.
• Maintain governance standards, policies, security, and compliance.
