Job summary

Amazon AWS Infrastructure Security – SPS team seeks a Data Center Security Systems Engineer to design, engineer, and integrate complex security systems across global data centers. You will develop specifications, lead cross‑functional projects, and help standardize security designs while driving automation and training materials for field operations.

Domestic and international travel may occur to support deployments.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation, or similar environments.
• 4+ years of commissioning experience including physical security systems or fire alarm systems.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer physical security systems for AWS data centers, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related technologies.
• Develop technical specifications, product requirements, and build plans for security system implementations.
• Evaluate and recommend solutions balancing security, cost, scalability, and operational complexity.
• Drive complex system integration projects across internal teams and external partners.
• Collaborate across AWS to integrate security requirements into designs and standards.
• Contribute to standardization of security system designs across the global data center portfolio.
• Develop automation solutions to improve deployment, configuration, and management of security systems.
• Create technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and training materials for field operations teams.
• Ensure compliance with internal security standards and policies.
