Job summary

Google’s Hardware Operations team maintains the state-of-the-art data center infrastructure that powers Google's search technology. As a Hardware Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Data Center Technicians, ensuring quality installation of servers and components and guiding complex installations and troubleshooting.

You will oversee hardware and server software configurations, networking components, and lifecycle management while developing project contingency plans and driving safe,

Qualifications

• 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
• 5 years of experience managing technical, vendor, contract management, or delivery teams.
• 5 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day management of teams within data center operations.
• Communicate priorities and facilitate hand off of operations to following shift leads.
• Work together to identify and resolve problems and create solutions for our global computing and network architecture.
• Hire, coach, and develop a team while achieving business goals.
• Ensure data center-related priorities are consistent with company objectives. Implement and drive the safety culture at the site, while fostering a collaborative team environment.
