Job summary

Google seeks a Category Manager to define and execute strategic sourcing for data center infrastructure equipment and manage supplier relationships. You will balance tactical and strategic work, collaborating with engineering, quality, operations, and finance to meet total cost of ownership, lead times, and quality objectives.

You will negotiate complex contracts, drive supplier performance, and implement improvements via scorecards and business reviews. Equity and benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience negotiating agreements for manufacturing, infrastructure or technology products.
• 4 years of experience with New Product Introduction with engineering teams.
• 7+ years of direct experience managing data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver sourcing and supply chain objectives for Products in the Data Center Infrastructure space.
• Develop and execute category strategies to achieve total cost of ownership, lead time, capacity, innovation and quality objectives.
• Conduct complex strategic technology negotiations including comprehensive contractual agreements to deliver cost, lead time and capacity objectives for the organization.
• Implement supply chain, inventory and process improvements through supplier performance metrics, scorecards, business continuity plans and regular business reviews.
