S&P Global Energy invites a Principal Commodity Analyst to join the Short-term Crops team. You will contribute to global supply-and-demand balance sheets, model markets, and craft client-focused insights across corn, soybeans, wheat, and vegetable oils.

The role offers broad exposure to weather, policy, trade, and cross-commodity dynamics, with a clear pathway to ownership of a specific market area over time.

Formación

• Proven experience in agricultural commodities research, feed markets, trading, or analytics.
• Experience developing supply-demand analysis, trade flows, and commodity price information.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with large datasets and forecasting models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to present market dynamics to clients and stakeholders.
• Highly curious, analytical mindset with root-cause analysis focus.
• Clear communicator comfortable presenting to diverse audiences and handling live Q&A.
• Able to operate in fast-moving markets with imperfect data.
• Strong ownership mindset and receptiveness to direction and feedback.

Responsabilidades

• Support development and maintenance of global supply and demand balance sheets for major agricultural commodities.
• Conduct fundamental market research and translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Contribute to market forecasts, balance sheets, and written analysis for pricing and policy.
• Produce market intelligence through reports, presentations, and webinars.
• Assist with client engagements, including briefings and ad-hoc analysis.
• Monitor crop production, weather, trade policy, and macro factors impacting markets.
• Collaborate with regional teams to develop integrated market perspectives.
• Develop and maintain analytical models, databases, and forecasting tools.
• Build expertise across multiple commodities and regions over time.
