Job summary

S&P Global Commodity Insights is seeking a Principal Commodity Analyst for the Global Crops team in the United States. You will contribute to supply-and-demand analysis, market forecasting, and client-facing research across corn, soybeans, wheat, and vegetable oils.

You will transform complex market data into clear insights for senior decision-makers. You will help develop forecasting models, collaborate with cross-commodity teams, and support cross-regional research initiatives while building

Qualifications

• Strong experience in agricultural commodities research, feed markets, trading, or analytics.
• Experience developing supply-and-demand analysis, trade flows, and price information.
• Ability to work with large datasets and build forecasting models.
• Clear and confident communicator for client and internal audiences.
• Curiosity and root-cause analysis mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of global supply and demand balance sheets for major crops.
• Conduct fundamental market research and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Contribute to market forecasts, balance sheets, and written analysis for clients.
• Produce market intelligence via reports, webinars, and research projects.
• Collaborate with regional teams to develop integrated market perspectives.
• Develop analytical models, databases, and forecasting tools; improve methodologies.
