Job summary

Amgen seeks a Sr. Manager Global Cost Accounting to lead a team of finance professionals in accounting close, reporting, and controls across manufacturing and site operations.

The role partners with FP&A, operations, and supply chain to ensure accurate financial results and robust internal controls. The position emphasizes process improvement, SOX compliance, and automation initiatives leveraging SAP, S4 HANA, BW, and analytics tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in global accounting

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree with 2 years of accounting, audit or financial reporting experience or equivalent
• Master’s degree with 6 years of accounting, audit or financial reporting experience
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of accounting, audit or financial reporting experience
• Associate’s degree with 10 years of accounting, audit or financial reporting experience
• High school diploma / GED with 12 years of accounting, audit or financial reporting experience

Responsibilities

• Supervise team of 3+ staff in day-to-day accounting operations to support close and reporting activities and ensure US GAAP compliance.
• Review variance analysis for Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow movements.
• Develop strategic relationships with Finance and Operations to coordinate Month End close activities.
• Support SOX Certification and other control verification processes; assist audits.
• Identify and implement automation and process improvements to streamline close and reporting, including SAP/S4/HANA and analytics tools.
• Manage external services vendors and governance meetings.
