Job summary

Venteon is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead the global accounting function for a rapidly growing, non-automotive manufacturing client in the Detroit area. The role requires oversight of consolidation, cost accounting, and intercompany reconciliations, with a strong emphasis on US GAAP compliance.

The successful candidate will manage month-end and year-end closes, coordinate audits, and partner with regional teams to ensure accurate site-level reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA designation required.
• 10+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
• Global / international company experience ideal.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and US GAAP compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the global accounting function including general ledger, cost accounting, consolidation, inventory management, and intercompany reconciliations.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes across all entities with accurate consolidation and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory reporting requirements.
• Maintain and enhance internal control systems and processes across all regions.
• Coordinate annual audits (US and international) and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Partner with plant controllers to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and site-level reporting.
• Lead accounting integration efforts related to new system implementations or M&A activity.
• Assist with cash management, working capital reporting, and banking compliance.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and documentation of significant transactions.
