Job summary

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is seeking a proactive Controls Automation Engineer to lead electrical and automation initiatives across multiple sites.

You will partner with plant teams to implement advanced control strategies, improve processes, and support large-scale capital projects. You will evaluate emerging technologies, strengthen automation and control systems, and work with technical teams to develop new processes enabling next-generation products.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering required.
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in automation engineering.
Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Deep knowledge of PLC programming, control concepts, and industrial automation standards.
Experience with Siemens/Allen-Bradley platforms and HMI/SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

Directs and supports electricians and plant staff in troubleshooting electrical problems on equipment of varying size.
Contributes to process improvement by performing automation tasks and coordinating internal/external resources.
Leads capital project efforts from electrical scope through commissioning, with possible mechanical input.
Develops and maintains electrical standards and best practices for the division.
Drives process conformity from a controls perspective and supports 24/7 operations.
