AmaWaterways River Cruises seeks a Controller to lead its accounting and financial reporting across US and international operations. This senior role manages close processes, policy design, and internal controls while collaborating with the CFO, auditors and lenders.

The role requires extensive experience with US GAAP/IFRS, multi-currency environments, and hands-on NetSuite work. Strong leadership and communication are essential to drive improvements and ensure timely, accurate financial results.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years leading teams.
• US GAAP and IFRS reporting experience required; AmaWaterways reports under both.
• Deep understanding of accounting in a multi-currency environment.
• Strong understanding of process and internal controls; lead transition to well-controlled environment.
• Demonstrated experience running a close and managing an external audit.
• Hands-on NetSuite experience; proficiency with consolidation tools and advanced Excel.
• Experience improving processes and implementing systems or automation.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Experience with international operations preferred.
• Public accounting experience preferred; travel, hospitality or consumer-facing experience is a plus.
• Interest in AI enablement and applying AI tools to finance work.
• Comfortable operating with imperfect information and exercising sound judgment.
• High-energy, self-driven and collaborative in a fast-paced, growth environment.

Responsabilidades

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close, with a disciplined close calendar.
• Lead consolidated financial reporting across entities and currencies under US GAAP and IFRS.
• Design, implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Lead the transition from an entrepreneurial style to a well-controlled environment.
• Lead and develop the accounting organization including revenue, cost and capital accounting.
• Oversee accounting for guest deposits, cruise revenue and related accounts.
• Direct review of complex transactions such as leases, charters, debt and ship projects.
• Manage external auditors and coordinate audit preparation and remediation.
• Partner with Tax, Treasury and FP&A for alignment of planning, cash and results.
• Assess team capacity; build processes and automation to reduce manual work.
• Provide clear financial insight and recommendations to CFO and leadership.
• Identify changes to deliver quality, decision-useful reporting.
