Job summary

Talentedge Recruitment Limited is hiring a Global Controller in NYC to lead the accounting function from the ground up. This onsite role collaborates with the Head of Finance and cross-functional teams to build scalable processes, strengthen controls, and drive efficient month-end close across global entities.

Ideal candidates will hold an Active CPA and have hypergrowth SaaS/AI experience, with proven people management and a track record of building finance organizations from scratch.

Qualifications

• Active CPA with licensure.
• Hypergrowth SaaS/AI experience preferred, with scaleup context.
• Experience building the accounting function from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable accounting processes and controls.
• Ensure a efficient month-end close for global entities.
• Oversee ASC 606 revenue recognition with Sales and Legal on non-standard arrangements.
• Manage external auditors, accountants and tax providers.
• Assess and evolve the tech stack, exploring AI-native ERP options.
• Partner with Data/BI/Product/Engineering to streamline workflows.

Global Controller | AI scaleup | NYC

Onsite 5 days p/w, Midtown Manhattan

$250k - $280k + equity

Talentedge are excited to be partnering again with a hyper-growth AI scaleup who are backed by global Tier 1 VCs on their first dedicated accounting hire.

Working directly with a fantastic Head of Finance (IB background + hyper-growth AI operator experience), you will build the accounting function from the ground up.

Key responsibilities:

• Build scalable processes and controls, automating at every opportunity
• Ensure an efficient month end close process for all global entities
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, partnering cross-functionally with Sales and Legal to review, structure, and document non-standard customer arrangements under ASC 606
• Manage external relationships with auditors, accountants and tax providers
• Optimise current tech stack + scope out an AI-native ERP (Rillet, Campfire etc)
• Partner closely with Data / BI / Product & Engineering teams to speed up multiple accounting workflows

Candidate profile:

• Active CPA
• Hypergrowth scaleup experience (SaaS / AI), ideally with experience of building the accounting function from the ground up
• Experienced people manager (Deal Desk & Procurement would be advantageous, however non-essential)
• No-ego, curious and inquisitive in nature
