Job summary

SunnyData is seeking a Global Controller to own the accounting backbone of a fast-scaling, multi-entity business. You will own the global close, consolidation across US and international subsidiaries, and robust internal controls to ensure audit-ready financials.

You will lead transfer pricing, intercompany flows, tax, and treasury, partnering with executive leadership to deliver real-time visibility and scalable accounting processes across Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, and Nepal.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership with close/consolidation experience.
• Full professional English, written and spoken.
• Experience in professional services or technology consulting.
• Experience consolidating multiple legal entities with intercompany transactions.
• Knowledge of IFRS, Uruguayan local reporting, and US GAAP.
• Experience reporting to a US or foreign parent.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end monthly close and consolidation across entities.
• Design scalable internal controls for sales-to-cash and procure-to-pay.
• Manage intercompany billing and transfer pricing flows.
• Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and statutory compliance.

As a Global Controller, you will own the accounting backbone of a fast-scaling, multi-entity, multi-country services business and turn it into a function that can carry the company through its next stage of growth.

This is the first dedicated Controller role at SunnyData, reporting to the VP of Operations and Finance and partnering closely with executive leadership. It is a builder’s seat, not a caretaker’s. You will own the global close, consolidation across our US parent and international subsidiaries, and the internal controls that keep a multi-currency, intercompany business clean and audit-ready. Success looks like a faster, tighter close, consolidated financials you can stand behind, transfer pricing and intercompany flows that hold up under scrutiny, and a finance function that gives leadership real-time visibility instead of month-old answers.

The Impact You Will Have

• Global Close & Consolidation: Own the end-to-end monthly close across the US parent and international subsidiaries (Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, and Nepal), including consolidation, intercompany eliminations, and multi-currency revaluation.
• Internal Controls: Design and operate scalable controls across the sales-to-cash and procure-to-pay cycles, balancing rigor with the agility a high-growth company needs.
• Intercompany & Transfer Pricing: Maintain intercompany billing, financing, and cost-allocation flows in line with our transfer pricing framework, partnering with external advisors across jurisdictions.
• Audit, Tax & Compliance: Manage external audits, tax filings, and statutory compliance across entities in partnership with third-party providers in each country.
• Cash & Treasury: Support cash flow reporting, FX exposure, and working capital management across currencies and banking relationships.
• Financial Planning & Forecasting: Lead long-term business planning, annual budgeting, and rolling forecasts in alignment with corporate goals.
• Team & Partner Management: Manage and develop our Accounting Manager based in Uruguay, and direct the third-party accounting partners who support statutory, tax, and payroll work across our entities. The team will grow as the company scales.

Required Experience

• Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting leadership, with recent experience owning the close and consolidation for a multi-entity organization.
• Credential: Contador Público degree from an accredited university (Universidad de la República or a recognized private university).
• Language: Full professional English, written and spoken. You will report to US leadership, prepare consolidated reporting in English, and work directly with US auditors and advisors.
• Industry: Hands-on accounting experience in a professional services or technology consulting business.
• Multi-Entity Depth: Demonstrated experience consolidating multiple legal entities, including intercompany transactions and multi-currency reporting.
• Technical Accounting: Deep command of IFRS, Uruguayan local reporting standards, financial reporting, and internal controls, plus experience reporting to a US or foreign parent company.
• US GAAP: Hands-on experience with US GAAP reporting and consolidation.
• Audit & Tax: Proven track record managing external audits and coordinating tax compliance across entities.
• People & Vendor Management: Experience managing accounting staff and directing third-party providers or outsourced accounting partners.
• Builder's Mindset: A track record of standing up or materially improving accounting processes, not just maintaining them.
• Communication: Clear, plain communicator who makes finance accessible and actionable to non-finance stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Regional Operations: Experience with entities in Argentina or Mexico, and with a Uruguay subsidiary reporting to a US or foreign parent.
• Transfer Pricing: Familiarity with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany financing structures across borders.
• ERP Implementation: Experience leading or supporting an ERP migration in a scaling company.
• M&A: Working knowledge of purchase price allocation and acquisition integration.
• Team Leadership: Experience building and managing accounting teams across multiple countries.

Education

• Contador Público degree required.
